Working towards Financial Freedom

Recently I took the time to create a spreadsheet with all of our debt listed out.  While I sort of knew the balances we owed to everyone, it is rather scary to see it in writing.

Counting our Mortgage payment and what we will dish out in Alimony payments, (I know most people wouldn't consider that a debt but I do) as of October 2007 we owe a whopping $372,053.00.  Our payments each month to debt total approximately 64% of our bring home pay!

So - hubby and I have agreed to work more diligently at paying off our debt.  We paid off our high interested credit cards with the low interest HELOC so that we may attack that faster.

I signed us up to see Dave Ramsey live in ATL next week.  Hopefully that will give us some tactics to speed up this process along with the motivation to make it happen.

I will try and find a simple way to track our progress here for those of you who are interested.
